Create a Hybrid Album

Since my first article for Scrapbook Dimensions was about blending your photos into your layouts, I feel a little bit like I skipped some important steps in creating a hybrid album.

Normally, I would start with the photos I would like to use and decide on an album style. I love chipboard. I love the different shapes and styles that all these companies have to offer. Since finding ‘Maya Road’ and ‘Basic Grey,’ I haven’t scrapped a regular page layout. This time though, I actually started with the kit I wanted to use and chose the photos and albums around that. It might seem a little bit backwards, but I think it will work wonderfully.

I am starting with a kit that is available through Scrapbook Dimensions as a free download this month created by Joli (ScrapProfessor) and I (Tallula Moon Designs). The kit is called “Be Who You Are.” Because I had my daughter in mind when I started creating this kit, I decided to use the senior portraits that I took for her and ‘Maya Roads’ 2-Ring Layer Book.
